  1. Legacy = desriny

    Affirmative  action = determinism

I know I just gave you definitions but I will not tell you  a wordview for you to choose I will and cannot do that for you

  2. They are both evil. Should be banned. I know evil. Highest scores should be the way. Plain and simple.

  3. Legacy....I believe you still have to have to grades to be accepted. A lot of times with Affirmative Action....you just have to be the right color...nothing to do with you skills or knowledge, just their quota.

Affirmative Action is reverse discrimination. In my opinion, you race or gender should not be located anywhere on a job application, college application, or any application for that matter. RACE SHOULD NOT MATTER!!!

Legacy's carry on tradition. I still think they suck, but at least there is some logic behind it.

  4. I think it has nothing to do with race! Poor people do not have the chance to get in and minorities are more likely to be poor.

  5. Legacy does not require you to have the grades to be admitted into the University.  Not a whole lot of "C" students get into Yale but our fearless leader did.  In many schools you don't even need to be a legacy, you just need the ability to make a rather large donation.

There is no such thing as reverse discrimination.  Discrimination is discrimination.  Further, affirmative action, contrary to popular belief, is not just a black and white issue.  It's not just a racial issue.  It is a non-discrimination, elevating the numbers of under-represented groups issue.  A white guy can get a minority scholarship to an historically black college and be accepted with far lower grades than a black student through their affirmative action programs because white males are the underrepresented population in that particular situation.  White women have benefitted from affirmative action more than any other group in this country.

  6. They both suck.

But Affirmative action judges people on their race (which is illegal), whereas legacies judge people on what their parents have done (which isn't illegal).

  7. They are both forms of discrimination, therefore, they are both bad.
