How is life around the University of Puerto Rico?

Nena, feel free to contact me and I can send you some more questions. At the Universities do they teach all of the classes in Spanish? My wife is going back to school and I am hoping she can take some regular classes besides just Spanish. How are the neighborhoods around UPR? I am leaning towards San Juan as sometimes I need to travel often for work and being in the city with the main airport might be convenient. If she/we decided to take classes, biology, business, etc. Is there a University that is preferred over the others at a reasonable price of course? I went to college in Ecuador and have worked in Mexico and those times were a very positive impact on my life and I really want to show my wife that same true life that is there. We live in Denver and when we visit Mexico she likes to go to the tourist towns because English is used a lot. However, when we do live there we will visit those areas just like any other tourist but I want to visit those areas not live in them.

The main campus of UPR is in the Rio Piedras area of San Juan. Around the college is nice, otherwise Rio Piedras isn't the best town in San Juan, although there are nicer parts of it.  But you could always live in Isla Verde, Condado, Old San Juan or Ocean Park or something.  Well these areas are high tourist areas, so I dont know how you'd feel about that. But these are all nice areas of San Juan & they are close enough that she could go to UPR. I know this university mainly teaches spanish. I don't know how many classes are done in english honestly.

The Interamerican university is supposively the only college with an english trimester in PR- at its San Juan campus.
