How is life in Konstanz, Germany?

I may want to move to Konstanz, Germany, in the future. How is life there? How expensive are apartments? How is the climate? Are there nice beaches near the city to swim in the lake?

Have been to Konstanz a few years ago and like it very much, but don't know how expensive the arpartments are...climate is mild consistent and dry.
