  1. I've never lived there, but I thought about moving there at one time. I reasearched it, and the jobs pay excellent, and although the rent is more expensive there, it's not much more expensive than where I'm living, which is a small town in Indiana. Plus, the apartments are much nicer and have a lot more amenities. I met someone who moved here from Sacramento, and she's wanting to move back there. She also said the schools are excellent, the jobs pay great, and it's an all around nice area. It's far from Los Angeles, so you won't have the L.A. trouble there. It's about an hour from San Francisco. I don't know about the housing market, I just looked at apartments online for Sacramento and the adjoining areas.

  2. My Husbands Uncle lives there with his family. He says the houses there are very expensive.Winter there is rain and lots of it.Summer is Hot and Humid. He has lived there for as long as I have known him,22 yrs so It can't be all that bad.

  3. I live in the area.  It's diverse and there's alot of outdoor stuff to do.  Located on 2 rivers, close to the mountains, temps are about 90 in the summer.  We dont have humidity.  It rains from about late Oct to maybe April.  That's it.  Northern CA is beautiful. Check out the Sacramento Bee for more info on housing and job market.  You should spend 3-4 days here to check it out for yourself.  Find a real estate agent or a mentor in your field to show you around.

  4. I lived in Sacramento from 1992-1995. It's not like LA but not like stockton either, it's somewhere in the middle. I remember the rush hour was frustrating.  SanFran is 75 minutes away. Lake tahoe (if you like skiing) is about an hour and a half. lot's of restaurants. I remember there was only one shopping mall (Arden fair) but I guess there should be more right now.  I'm sure it has changed since my last visit. I don't know about Minneapolis.

  5. Sacramento isn't all that bad. There are some bad areas you want to stay clear of, but that's any city anywhere really.

It does get EXTREMELY hot during the summer. I mean HOT HOT. You will want to make sure you have air conditioning.

It's a bit flat, but there are some nice lakes in the area.

It is also the State capital which I'm sure you are aware of, so if your into politics, there are plenty of it.

My friend went to college in Sacramento and i would visit a lot (lived in the bay area which is a couple hours away). Personally I wouldn't move there though. Not my thing. But it is a lot cheaper to live then in the bay area.

It's not an hour away from San Francisco. Unless you are driving really really fast.

Sacramento should never be compared to San Francisco as it's apples and oranges.

  6. Terrible

  7. TWO WORDS: NO SNOW!!!

I really love the Sacramento area.  My wife and I moved up from Los Angeles about 8 years ago.  We live in a suburb NE of Sacramento in Lincoln.  We also lived in Roseville which was really nice too.  It has a nice location because you can get to the San Francisco bay area in about two hours, or go to Lake Tahoe in about two hours for skiing and gambling, or about an hour and a half to Napa wine country.

I have never been to MN, but I know that I love the Sacramento area!
