  1. Vancouver is going through a major housing crisis.  There are lots of jobs, the weather's pretty hot in the summer (in a good way), and the people in many areas (ie. Commercial Drive, Main St...) are friendly, it's easy to find pot, and it's a pretty chill city for the most part.  HOWEVER, housing costs an arm and a leg.  Most places, you'll be lucky to find a 1 bedroom for 800/mo, never mind BUYING a place, and when the Olympics come, it'll be even worse.  There are homeless people all over the place, it's home to the #1 poorest postal code in all of Canada, and it's getting gentrified like nobody's business.  It's beautiful, but I personally can't afford to live here any longer, and I've been in BC my whole life.

  2. Vancouver is awesome!  The whether is nice during summer, but during winter you won't see much sunshine . . . but the city is beautiful, you have mountains and beaches right on your doorstep, the people are nice and the nightlife is fun.  I lived there for a year, didn't think the housing was too bad, but probably depends on what you're comparing it too
