I live in USA in a Residencial Community Apartment in the suburb, it is not a building apartments, neither a house. I am looking to move in near Toronto, but any time a google an "apartment" the result shows low/hight rise apt in a building.

How can search for a familiar community complex apartment in Toronto area (like Mississagua)? ...should I searching for Houses?? ...I'd saw many basement apartments offers: it is legal to live in a basement?, it's is comfortable for a family of 4? ...it's a Condo what I should look for?

Please help me out! I'll appreciate any apartment's link or shared experience.

  1. you may want to search "townhouses" which are a nice compromise between apartments and houses.  usually linked together with communal park or pool facilities.  usually they have laundry facilities in each unit/townhouse.

  2. go to http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/apa/

they have LOADS of rental listings for houses, rooms, basements, apartments - EVERYTHING.

    good luck!

  3. You can rent houses or townhouses but it will be at least $1,200+ a month for rent.  Toronto and Mississauga are very expensive places to live.

  4. Toronto is an expensive place to live and the winters are horrible (very cold, lot's and lot's of snow). It's over rated. If I were you, I wouldn't move there. Move to Seattle, Boston or Vancouver but NOT Toronto.
