How is math related in horse riding?

aafromaa has it right - aside from that, I cannot fathom how math and horse riding are related.. With the exception of a word problem that you could create..

John rides his horse at an average speed of 10MPH traveling for 12 and a half hours. How far did john go?

cross country requires the knowlage of time and speed. The feed requires lbs and oz. to caloric in take, Saddle and equitment require inches and weight, You need PSI knowledge, and of course money and building expenses requiring money
