  1. American Media was, slightly, biased towards liberals back in the late 1970's and early 1980's.  Frankly, they (editorial staffs) got sick and tired of being accused of being biased, so they went out and hired token conservatives to fill out their reporters.   Now-a-days, they are considerably more ballanced.  You even find ultra conservative news outlets like Fox News.  There have always been biased print journalists (The New Republic, Mother Jones, etc.).

Conservatives, however, got a lot of milage out of claiming that the media was liberal.  Rush Limbaugh almost never says the word "media" without prefacing it with the label "liberal".  They have claimed this for so long, not only back when there was a hint of truth to it, but ever since too, that people no longer question it.  People have accepted the notion that media has a liberal bias.

If you are a conservative, and the media agrees with you, you quote them.  If they disagree with you, you can dismiss them as liberal biased.  I've heard conservatives bash conservative media organizations as "liberal biased" upon the rare occasion that they don't parrot what the given polititian wants them to say.  Come on, Fox News is liberal biased media?  Give me a break.

I'd like the guy who claims there is a poll that most reporters are Democats to cite his sources (as if he has any).  I find this a little hard to believe, considering that the majority of liberals who vote straight Democratic tickets claim to be (like to think of themselves as) "indpendants".

  2. Fox News certainly isn't liberal.  I think the fact that media is generally very pc and doesn't pander to conservatives leads some to believe that media is liberally biased.  As a liberal I find it a bit too safe and centrist for my taste actually.  And don't even get me started on their selective reporting.  It's all about making money, nothing more.

  3. Poll of reporters nationwide say they vote 93%-7% democrat party.  Not exactly even handed. their voting patterns come out on their reporting. 60 years ago it was 50%/50%.

  4. Well all the media for the younger generation is pro liberal and very anti republican. That is an example of Liberal-biased American media. But, I also think some media is very biased toward the right.

  5. it's not it depends where you go. i find daily show with john stewart and colbert report, are liberal style. but when i see fox news shows from the southern states it's a whole different story, and it never ceases to amaze me that that's the news people are getting.

some other shows are as well, but i'm sure it depends more on where you go.

probably southern americans are best to answer that, they probably get pissed every time they see some liberal stuff on tv or like a g*y guy or something, let a lone a show starring a g*y guy. whereas i'm more likely to miss it cause it won't stand out to me.

  6. Good solid examples.....how about watching CNN for an hour or so?
