So i plan on applying to top-tier schools like MIT, uPenn et cetera... but the problem is my high school gpa. I have a 3.61 unweighted gpa. However, i've taken all honors/AP classes throughout high school. 10 AP classes, 9 tests with 4's and above. 33 ACT, 2200 SAT, 800 SAT II math 2, 750 Biology-E, and 680 US History. And i'm just wondering whether or not colleges like these will overlook my unweighted gpa since i took on a rigorous course load

  1. ur into stanford .. no worries

  2. I would say that your course load does make up for it, but also you need some extracurricular involvement.  It would be really good to be in multiple clubs and sports or the band.  The ACT will get you into University of Pennsylvania and probably even MIT, but you'll need some extra activities.

  3. I think you'd still have a good chance...as good as anyone.  I had comparable grades, a slightly lower ACT score, and far less AP tests, and I still got into Stanford (I didn't go, though).

Grades and tests are only one of the many things you will need to get accepted, though.  Extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, writing ability, professionalism, interview skills, leadership qualities, goals, etc.

Also, be decisive.  Colleges want people with opinions and the means to back them up.
