im going to start my first job ever, working at a kindergarten. i am 17 and will only be 18 next year. she said she is going to pay me by cash.

but how is she going to keep track of the hours and days i work? will she write it down? time sheet?

(i realize this is a vague question) but if you are a boss, what do you do?

  1. If there are no timesheets or computer system to keep track of when you come and go, then you should keep your own log of your hours. I had many experiences when I was young and worked in restaurants where the hours I got paid for didn't really match the hourse I had worked.

    Good luck...

I hope this is temporary and you are planning on going to College.

  2. This is the first time you work, I understand what you are worrying.

Usually the head of the kindergarten won't cheat you. She will ask the clerk to keep the record and pay you. I think you better keep the record yourself too.

Every morning when you come back to school, you have to see the head or the clerk first to report duty ... you will sign your name (maybe write down the time). Before you leave school, you also have to say goodbye to the head (maybe wrtie down the time too). The clerk of the school will keep the time and record for you. Don't worry!

You will be paid at the end of the month.

Actually .... different boss has different paying rule.

In our school we pay the part-time supply teachers in this way.

The clerk of the school does everything for the headmistress and keeps the records of the part-time teachers too. But we pay them through the bank not in cash.

Hoping you will enjoy your teaching!

  3. Make an under standing, in advance You are going to be paid once a month or a week.
