  1. I have no idea but google it and your sure to find some results.

  2. Uranium 235 has a special property, when a neutron hits a uranium 235 atom at the right speed, it is 'sucked in' to the atom. This adds enough energy to the atom to make it unstable and it splits (fission). As it splits much energy is given off as heat (kinetic energy) and radiation (gamma). On average 2.5 neutrons are also given off. These wander off. The structure of the reactor takes the energy from the fission to be used as heat. The rest of the structure of the reactor is there to keep the radioactive material in and to control the reaction speed by absorbing the excess neutrons.

  3. I don't know. But in in an ideal world the U.S would have a monopoly on anything and every to do with nuclear technology and nuclear missile head stock pile.

  4. Nuclear reaction in blocks of Uranium gives off a lot of heat. This heat is used to boil water and make steam, which drives a steam turbine, turning an axle which drives an electric generator. The steam is then cooled down, either using cooling towers or water from a nearby river, and is sent around again to be heated by the uranium.

  5. It is controlled bomb reaction where U235 is broken to smaller fragments releasing nutrons and smaller fragments of  atoms. In this process a fraction of mass gets converted into energy: heat , radiation etc. This heat is taken out for genertating steam which tuns turbine and rotating magnets in generator generates electricity.

To run the entire cycle, physics at nuclear fission controls nutron release and doesnot allow this power plant to become a bomb via contoling the released neutron numbers within safe limit by cadmium rods which act as mderator.

So U235  fission reaction > Nuron and heat > Used for steam generation > rotating turbine > rotating magnetic field > generates current

I hope it answers your question.
