don't go to ooty in may. it will be overcrowded. go to munnar, coorg or Kodaikanal. mysore is a great place. go and have a look at mysore palace. it is amazing from inside.

Ooty is a splendid hill station so going there in May is fine. It will be definitely crowded at this time of the year. If you don't mind crowds, it should be fine.

Mysore is nearer sea-level height. It is a big city. Nice place to be in but probably hot and humid in May. Mysore Palace, Brindavan Gardens ( adjucent to the Krishnaraj sagar dam), Chamunda hills are places worth a visit. There's a dancing fountain in the Brindavan garden, experience this. Nice south indian food is an attraction. If you have time stay over in the Madumalai forests ( between Mysore and Ooty). Nice forests and flora and fauna.

These days they are over crowded. Ooty is no longer salubrious and the chillness is gone. During summer, one may avoid going to such popular tourist spots. Why do not you go to Munnar or Andaman Islands.
