optics is the study of light, when includes the study of color.

Interior designers are very concerned about having enough light in a room, not  creating glare on TVs and computers,

and if the colors in a room go together.   For instance red might be  on 12 items in a room, but is  it the same red?   more important, since that red is on ceramic, plastic, fabric, carpet, paint - how do the different materials change under sunlight, artificial light, etc.
