  1. I think it's "Bray", which rhymes with "Pray".


  2. Americans say tie-ko, though we're told it's really tee-ko. Americans have a need to sound ignorant.  But we're pretty consistent with bra-hay.

    My standard line on pronunciations is print is:

    "It's pronounced anisotropy."

    It's just a joke.  Really only Alex Filippenko is consistently correct on this one.

    And of course the reference that fails to make it to print:

    You say tomato, i say tomato.
