Question:

How is "sealed" and "unsealed" laminate defined? Apart, of course, the obvious.

A floor cleaner I purchased advises not to use it on unsealed laminate. I think my flooring must be sealed but I just want to be sure.

  1. Some types of laminate are more like engineered timber and are unsealed - and feel it when you touch - this allows you to sand over and put on the finish. Prefinished looks like it - many are varnish protecting a photograph of a piece of wood on mdf so the mention of wood in the same breath is pushing it a bit.
