  1. I've never had a problem and I live here. Now, where you get off may be a different story.

  2. I heard a story about a woman getting rapped on the el.Don't know if it's true but some areas can be pretty scary.Like someone else said, go early and spend some extra time at the airport.Better yet.. there are plenty of hotels at the airport.Stay in one if you can or sit in the lobby.

  3. depends where you get off. ive actually almost been mugged on the L it can be pretty S****y. just depends where you are going and getting off

  4. Take a taxi!

  5. leave early from where you will be... before dark and get to O'Hara early.  Better to arrive early and safe than to take a chance.

They have TV at O'Hara and a place ot get a bite of food.   Just don't drink liquor ; IF you drink to much they won't let you on the plane!

  6. If you're worried about your safety, get on the very first car with the el train driver. If anything happens, they're able to do something about it. The el can be a little dangerous but it depends on which line you're on. With the blue line from O'Hare, there's bound to be a lot of other people riding it even at 3:30 a.m.; I've seen airport workers, flight attendants, even pilots riding it at all times of day or night.

After you reach your destination, that's a different story. Depending on how far your final distination is from the el train station, it might be best to take a cab from there. Since it's downtown, you should be able to find one even at 3:30 a.m.

  7. I ride that blue line at about 1:30 every night, coming home from work, by O'hare and heading back into the city. Its usually a pretty busy train which adds to the safety. But if not, try and find a car with a lot of people on it, or sit close to the conductor
