  3. ...as a matter of fact, I live in Panama so very few places hotter than this. My wife's from a town that harvest salt from the sea. You see, they dig salt evaporation ponds. These are shallow man-made ponds designed to produce salt from sea water, which is fed into large ponds and water is drawn out through natural evaporation which allows the salt to be subsequently harvested. Evaporating the seawater produces a brine, then extra heat is often provided by lighting fires underneath the brine to help process the salt
