  1. they are one of the worst. They say the frames are this much and lenses are this much then they need to charge for this and that. 400.00 out the door.

I use costco. nice glasses and cheap. costco 125.00 out the door.

all the scratch proof thinning lenses antiglare..ect.

  2. I see a lot more shoddy work and problems coming out of Costco than Sears.

All the big chains have their problems...you just have to take your chances. At least the guaranty will be good at Sears.

  3. Im pretty sure their department for glasses isnt completly horrible.

I think their glasses will be fine

  4. Sears is great to buy tools at. That's it. I will always recommend an independent optician over any chain. The level of quality and service will be far better. It may cost you a bit more, but in the long run it's well worth it.  Most chains don't have repeat business and they don't care. Many good opticians (like footprintz, I bet) will have a repeat customer base that spans years, and for good reason. (there are some crappy independent opticians, I'm sure, but the likely hood is far less.)

Costco may be a good price, but how are they when you actually have a problem and what do they offer as far as warranty on the lenses and frame. These are important things to ask when you are ordering your glasses anywhere.
