  1. The greatest concern about cancer, regardless of where it is...like the skin, is metastasis. Metastasis is the spread of the cancer to other areas of the body like the liver, brain or bones. In addition, the area of skin cancer if not removed will deteriorate and can erode in to deeper layers...leaving a "hole" in the protection the skin once offered.

    Hope that helps!

  2. Not removing it will mean that it will travel trough your blood system and relocate in your vital organs and chew at them. It will destroy your immune system.Skin cancers enlarge slowly and steadily and can invade neighboring areas, like the eye. They can also spread to distant parts of the body if left untreated.

  3. Skin cancer does not remain on the skin . .the tumor will 'seed' and send hundreds of new microscopic cells into the blood stream or lymphatic system in a process called metastasis. Metastatic cancer cells can travel all over the body and lodge anywhere . . inside the brain, the lung, the liver . . and start growing a new cancer colony . . that will repeat the cycle indefinitely. That is why all cancer is feared . . the ability for the cancer to metastasize and send hundreds and hundreds of new malignancies throughout the body. Cancer does not stay in one location . . and because it is small cells . . it is virtually invisible until it begins to grow . . and suddenly a patient will have all those hundreds of malignant cells growing at the same time . .the body becomes filled with tumors . . on the inside and outside of the body .. the cancer overwhelms all the body systems and the patient will die. That is how it will hurt you if it is not removed.

  4. If it is a melanoma, it can develop into a painful, virtually incurable terminal cancer.

  5. it will spread.  my dad just had his successfully treated on his chest & my mum has it on the end of her nose & is due to have the tip of the nose removed next week...so it can be treated ... if caught in time.  if you have one...don't delay..seek help.
