Why doesn't the solid waste contaminate the soil when it decomposes?

  1. Well, it can. But there are organism on the planet called "decomposers". These organisms can use solid waste or dead plant or animal matter as food. Their waste products and what they break matter down into are beneficial to the soil and are not a contamination.
