is it like, when you string your racket, you make it looser or tighter? or is the tension already within the strings and all rackets are the same tightness?

  1. string tension is applied using a racquet stringer. some are manual and some are electric. when you get string, there is no tension on them yet, same with the racquet. that is where the stringer comes into play. the tension is not the same on all racquets because certain models cannot hold as much tension and can break if overtightened. i hope this helped

  2. String tension is applied when you string your racket in depending lbs you pull the string when string your racket. You make it tighter when its lbs is high to make it looser you lower the amount of lbs you use pull on the string.

  3. String tension is applied when you string your racquet.  With this being said, you can make it looser or tighter by adjust low tension if you want it to loose or high tension by setting it to max tension.  Every racquet is come with a recommendation tension like for example 53-63 lbs which 58lbs is the median.  If you want a loose tension you would string around 53-55lbs or a tigher tension by 61-63lbs.

    I hope this help.
