  1. I used to work there years ago, I remember it was premade in large plastic bags.  To warm them up you would get hot water and just place the bag in the hot water & cover.  Once it was ready we'd cut the bag open and pour it into those metal bowls in a steam warmer.  I used to tell people the beans look like kibbles-n-bits, add water and voila..beans.  I was completely fascinated while working there.  I still love it to this day.  Ask me about KFC, I worked there for 3 years!

  2. I don't work in fast food, but no, it is not powdered meat.  It is ground beef, crumbled and fried, with seasonings added.

  3. my best friend worked there and ya he said it was a powder that they added hot water to! that s why i don't eat there

  4. Sandra, the meat at Taco Bell is not the same as ground chuck.  If that was the case, the tacos wouldn't be 69 cents (or however much they are now).  EVERY type of fast food beef has fillers and extra fat in order to make it cheaper.  Normal ground chuck is 80/20 meat to fat ratio.  Beef at Taco Bell is probably 50/50 or even worse.

For Taco Bell specifically, I know their meat is already cooked, comes frozen in a bag, and all it needs is a microwave.

  5. frozen

  6. My son used to work there. It is frozen and he says it is very gross when it comes out of  the package.

  7. it is just like your frozen ground chuck... they fry to brown and cook it... add the seasonings and serve.  It is not powdered. and I would not say it is gross... it is meat, frozen, un-cooked when taken out of the freezer.  Kids will say anything!
