  1. Hey, i live in the Bahamas, so Im going to tell you my opinion of it.

Nassau THRIVES on tourism, so if you want to relax and be alone, try one of the less touristy islands like Grand Bahama.

Your experience here, all depends on where you stay. At least once a year I spend a few nights at the Atlantis resort over Paradise Island and I NEVER get tired of it.

Atlantis has so much to do. Its like a marina/water park/ hotel/beach/aquariam all in one. They have three different phases, the beach and coral towers which has a much more relaxed and beach scene, the royal towers which is alot more up to date and the cove which is the newest addition and definitely the most classy. Each part has different types of entertainment like live music, casinos, shopping, water sports, slides, incredible restaraunts and its great for hanging out. The cove also allows you to swim with the dolphins.

If you want to use their facilities however for a lowe price, you can stay at comfort suites which is of walking distance. But enough about atlantis.

The Bahamas is not extremely modern, but the beaches are fantastic. Scuba diving, boat riding and jet skiing are the BEST because the water is so clear and warm. Downtown is the  best for shopping, but some of the straw market people can be really pushy but never a hassle. June is our rainest season but most of the time its always warm. January is the coldest month, doesnt get lower than the 50's at its coldest. And the average temperature year round is in the 80's. During the summer, the temps get extremely hot though and people are so used to the warmth, that the winter coats come out at 65-70 degrees. Night life is great for tourist and alot of places are family friendly.

The island is great, but it does get really boring for locals because the islands not very big and you loose interest. My advice for tourist would be to stay in the tourist parts of the island and dont stray far because just like any place, nassau has its bad and "ghetto" parts. There are the rich areas, the poor areas and the average areas.

Oh and, NO TAXES on food, clothes, or whatsoever. I think theres some on hotels, but thats it. Drinking age is 18, driving permit age is 17.

Overall, it has its downfalls, but nassau is still really nice. Anyone who could get a chance to visit should definitely because if you stay at the right places, the experience is incredible. Me and my friends even play tourist for the day every once and a while. But being more of a city person, the island does loose its appeal after so many years.

  3. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG ITS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

The water is like reallyyyyy clear, nice beaches, awesome shells and views, you can see really cool fish if u scuba dive, or if u plan on staying at atlantis, where we did, they have the best water stuff, and they have the largest outdoor aquarium and awesome lazy rive and rapids river, ok slides, awesome food, nice sharks and manta rays, cool fish, loads of nice pools, and they have a marina with food and stores, like versace, gucci, and those kinda places, they also ahve cheaper shops, since im sure most people cant afford taht pricey of stuff like us, lol but yeah if u are able to go to the bahamas take the chance and go for it!! its a really nice place to go, i want to go back there sometime, my sister even wants to live there when she grows up lol

  4. very touristy, i was there in march and will not go back.  it is so expensive and I found the men to be polite but the women to be rude.  its very corrupt and dirty

  5. Warm man...

  6. beautiful.  there are tons of things you can find to do in nassau.  gambling,  shopping beaches, night life and more.  grand bahama is great too.  there are'nt as much tourist so you can have a quiet beach all to your self,  with no one watching you.  it is the ideal place for a couple.  nassau is for partying, and freeport is for lovers.

  7. My brother lives in the bahamas... it's gorgeous, with some of the best scuba diving out there.  It does get coolish in the winter months, ( can get down to the teens), and the summer is generally their rainy season... I went for the month of July last year, and it rained every single day I was there.... even got chased off the beach by a water spout that managed to reach land.  That said, it generally does not rain all day, just an hour or so.  I love the Bahamas and go a couple of times a year.

BTW... I would not go to NAssau, my brother lives on GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND, in Freeport.  MUCH nicer and really laid back.  nassau is a big city, with big city problems.
