How is the Blackberry Pearl?

My cousin said it is trash, and my service is t-mobile i really want it so I want to have some more opinions

The BlackBerry Pearl is a great device. I have known people who have dropped the Pearl several times with no issues. I have used the Pearl 8100 and Pearl 8120 for T-Mobile and they were both great.

Yes its a good device.

The only problems that I hear from users are the keyboard. It's not a full qwerty keyboard. It's one of those keys that you have to press numerous time to get the letter or number that you need.

it gets water damaged easily and if you drop it even just once or twice it will have problems. the design is nice, but i would much rather choose the new sidekick. it looks cool too but is more heavy duty.
