Question:

How is the Dominican Republic after Storm Fay?

My family and I are due to fly into DR on Wednesday. We're not getting much info here in the UK.

Firstly was there much damage and any casualties ? Hopefully noone was hurt.

Are the airports open ?

Whats the weather like now ?

Are tourists still coming in ? Is it safe for us to still visit - we're going to Puerto Plata

Thanks in advance

P

  2. Thanks for this question P - I have just asked a similar one.

For those of you based in the Dominican - our UK news reports are saying

"Dominican Republic battered by Tropical Storm Fay - 100's stranded"

Just shows you what the press can be like Hey  !

Thats why i wanted to check on here to see how bad (or not ) it really was

  3. Hi Paul from the UK!,

First what storm? We had just two days of heavy rain but a storm? NO

Damage? Causalities? NOOOOOOOOO Here in Puerto lata this is like heaven so "don't worry be happy" (like de song). I'm living and being a inbound tour operator for VIP's here in Puerto Plata, so I know what I'm talking about. If you want to do something special (excursions) just call me (1) 809 916 5069 and we can meet over here. Anyway have a nice flight and a happy vacation!
