How is the Nissan GT-R fast and kinda cheap?

Question

Despite 480HP, it is pretty heavy, yet has good accerleration times. And it is pretty fast. Even though the dealers will probably mark up the price, the MSRP is low. So how does the GT-R do this ?

Great cars and are cheaper than IE Porsche due to people would pay that for the Porsche name but not for a Nissan name,myself would go Nissan everytime but thats me.

Very precise engineering my friend. Japanese auto makers have serious know how on packing power into small packages. I'm not in anyway calling the GTR small, but lets be real. Its still only a 6 cyl. And the fact the its compared to Z07 (vette) and Porsche 911 gt....you  have a hefty sticker price but below the competition. Nissan is making a statement. Make something in my class and bring your prices down.

If your talking the "GODZILLA" its packed with electronics.  With ECU, AWD, The famous nissan engine the Q type engine V6, This makes the car fast.  Counting the fact that nissan pretty much poored their hearts into this machine.  In fact this car has way more potential when tuning the beast that in the states you have to sign a contract that you are not going to put after market products into the car.

I have been studying for GTR School next week. Super cars that can go as fast as Nissan's GTR cost in the 120,k to 250,k range. So when your Lamborghini gets out run by that guy with a $80,000 GTR wouldn't that be embarrassing? All have been sold so the after market will take over now watch for people selling the rare imposable to find cars. But keep in mind these cars come with a hefty price for maintenance when operated on the racing tracks servicing every 1,800 miles and $5,000 four wheel only brake jobs with unturnable brake rotors. Fortunately the brakes should out last the $2,000 set Bridgestone run flat tires which you can burn a set off this car in under 4 hours. So inexpensive it isn't .

Turbochargers and AWD grip. The turbo's give high boost when accelerating.

The car also has launch control, which is something that helps you accelerate as fast as possible.

If the Porsche 911 Turbo had launch control, it would accelerate just as fast or maybe faster since it is also a 480HP Twin turbo 6 cylinder car and it is lighter and more aerodynamic. The 911 Turbo already has a 1mph higher top speed.

The Price is low because the car is made out of cheaper parts, like the Chevy Corvette. The interior is cheap plastic and the seats don't have much cushion.

They are probably losing money on it.  Its loaded with every computer they could find to help it be so fast.

The fast acceleration times to 60mph are due to AWD.  In the 1/4 mile its not nearly as fast.  Most magazine tests have steadily dropped to high 11s to low 12s suggesting that the early low to mid 11 sec were not the production car or the future Type S.
