As a child and even in to highschool, I was taught the U.S. constitution. I was led to believe that the bill of rights was valid. I was told that I had certain human rights, along with every other American.

I am just wondering what a classroom sounds like discussing this subject now days?

Students are smart and if they are still teaching the US constitution and Bill of Rights like they used to, the kids would have A LOT of questions about some of the things we are doing in this country?

Are any of you teachers or students yourselves? What is being taught, do they understand it or is it being skipped over now?

  1. Well, given that hardly any product of government schools remotely understand the Constitution and its limited government principles, I would bet government schools are teaching it as a throwaway document, something to be ignored in favor of the treasured "greater good".

  2. If your spelling  of  "children" is any gauge, and considering things

usually get worse than better (especially in the  public schools) with

time,  I'd have to guess if  it's even taught them   then it's taught

very poorly--for instance,  they're probably taught  that  where the

2nd Amendment says "a well-regulated Militia..." this means the

    National Guard.

The main point of  our Federal Constitution is  not that you have

certain inalienable self-evident  rights, it's that there  are severe

limits  on the power of government.  The argument  for

forming  a strong federal government was not  that people had rights--

that was a "given".  Those contemplating  creating such  a behemoth

were highly suspicious of the motives  for  creating such a thing  and

they had to see it severely limited in what it could do  to them and

their states before they'd agree to take part.

The main focus of the self-evident Rights of Man the constitution does

touch on  are  those whose enjoyment serves a function in  helping to

limit the government from becoming a  tyranny--for governments

become tyrannies  by  nickel-and-diming  us one citizen at a time.

A tyranny is no good without  slaves to tyrannize, so  we have to be

liable to  being made  a slave somehow--easily convicted of  a crime

we may or may not have committed,  for instance.

It's not  a list of entitlements.

  3. It isn't taught anymore...

  4. It isn't taught anymore. Our public schools are horrible.

  5. The liberal grasp of the public education system in America does not "teach" the Constitution or Bill of Rights.  They skim over them, let you know they are there and then move on to better things like hugging trees, diversity and making sure your coke can gets recycled.  Liberals aren't stupid.  They know if the Constitution was actually taught in this country, they would never win any elections.

  6.   You have to educate your self because every thing that they are   teaching is not true !

There  plans of the future generations are simple !

Keep them brainwashed with t.v. shows and video games and no physical actives and you will have a fine product of puppets that will lead this nation under watchful eyes of the new world order (O.W.O.)!

The patriotic American is a fading breed and if you do not take the moment to remember who and what we are and how we came to be then we will truly perish from the earth

But in our last moments I can only hope that we will stand up and put our Nation Back on track and remove those that weaken it !

                                        GOD Help U.S. !!

  7. i was taught it last year in 8th grade! im going into 9th and they barely teach you anything. you just read over it and how it happened but you dont talk about issues !
