How is the american dream american iconic?

i am doing my senior research paper on the american dream as an american icon.. and all my research has been used and left me at a standstill.. can you just give me a bit of help please.. =/

The success from being an American icon or celebrity certainly brings about the ecstasy of life. After all, the story from such a success belongs to a low percentage of people. Generally speaking, American dream should focus on taking advantage of freedom to explore the invisible natural resources coming with life. Unfortunately, this  inborn invisible natural resource has been either underused, or misused, or abused, and even destroyed intentionally or unintentionally in many people's life.
