How is the commute from Old Bridge to Rutgers New Brunswick?

I'm starting college this fall, and am moving from PA to NJ. I'm thinking of getting an apartment in Old Bridge but am worried about the commute. I'm hoping to keep it between 20-30 minutes. About how long is the commute to College Ave? Mapquest says about 15 minutes, but I'm guessing with traffic it is longer. Also, will I be affected by the Rt. 18 construction?

24 minutes depending on how you go. River road is a great alternative to rt 18 + easton ave. Construction only slows traffic if you rely on rt 1.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!!! trains and busses! and kayaks! and bike the canal path!

but, 22-28 minutes, depending on time of day.
