How is the drive from Guayquil Ecuador to Manta Ecuador ...?

Is it long and difficult.. how long to make the drive ..is it safe... going to Canoa Beach... Thank you

Due the extremelly heavy rainfall season we've had, the roads are in fact in very poor condition. It should take you no more than 3 hrs to get to Manta, and perhaps an hour more to Canoa.

Daylight travel is recommended, because at night you might not want to be on the road. If travelling to Canoa by car, do it during the day. If by bus, make sure it's a well known bus company that will not stop by any place on the road.

Other than above, just enjoy the trip. Canoa is a perfect place for resting and relaxing.

It usually takes from 4 to 4 1/2 hours, the road condition is excellent in the Guayas province (where Guayaquil is located)  but when you cross to Manabi (where Manta is located) you could find some bumps so you gotta be careful. You´ll have no big problems when driving since most of the journey goes on a straight plane road, no hills at all. Canoa is loacted half an hour from Manta and a wonderful place to visit, I recommend you the caves, they are wonderful.
