  2. Welfare or ADC. Until it's old enough to live on its own.

  3. Well the white stuff when you crack it,  is its nutrients (when you eat the egg it is unfertilized, so to 'future chicken' doesnt use up all the nutrients) The shell is its protection.  

  4. It's held in place by two spiral bands of tissue in the white part of the egg (called chalazae) that connect the yolk to the lining membrane at either end of the shell.
