There are a few ways that Japanese say "sky" but the most common and easiest to remember is probably "sora".

In kanji "sora" is written as 空. In hiragana, it's written as そら.

The word "sukai" is sometimes used when "sky" is being used as a proper noun. Since "sukai" is just a Japanese version of "sky"  based on pronunciation and not a word of Japanese origin, it is most often written in katakana as スカイ.
