  1. The food on an NCL cruise in the Main Dining Room and the Buffet is as good as that on the other major cruise lines. I don't know about the speciality restaurants, as I have never used them. However, on the NCL ships I have sailed on, there has been an Italian Restaurant, one deck below the buffet, that was really good, with fantastic views over the stern of the ship. You don't have to pay extra to use it, but you do have to book a table early to get in.

  2. my hubby and i have been on a few of the ncl. ships and each one varied from one ship to the next , they do have lots to choose from and if you don't like the food say so in a nice way and they will let you have something else.

  3. I have been on about 8 NCL cruises and  I always found the food to be good, about like that on the other 12 cruises I have been on.  I rarely use their specialty restaurants and when I have, I have not been impressed at all.  I personally think that all of the "specialty" places are just a gimmick and an attempt to get you to spend more money on food.  I think that is ridiculous since there is plenty of good free food on ship.

  4. it's on par with the other cruise lines.

  5. Unlike the other answerer's, we do use the specialty restaurants on NCL and some of them are very good.  The Bistro, or their equivalent, had excellent, high end  food. The  Tapas restaurants are very good and allow you to try lots of little foods.   The Japanese restaurants were about what you would get on shore.  The steakhouse was overrated.  The main dining rooms were good.  There were things we tried that were just so-so, but we wouldn't have tried those things at home, so it's just a different experience.

All in all, I'd say the food is good.
