How is the irish leaving certificate seen by good universities abroad?

do the top universities abroad (usa, uk, australia, india) accept the irish leaving certificate system? is it easy to get into them with a good score in the leaving cert?

The Irish leaving cert is the same as British A levels, except students sit more exams. I have 6 subjects, but most people do 9 subjects.

The Irish education system has a good reputation, so I can't see why not.

I once heard that having a Leaving Cert was like having a college education in the US, One of my sisters teachers told her but I couldn't be certain.

Well I live in the UK and I know for a fact that a lot of good unis over here accept the Irish Leaving Certificate as a form of qualification =) if Cambridge does (the best uni in Britain) then I think pretty much all of them do =p
