  1. A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are.  For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren’t eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check

Since the first round of direct deposits is done, it sounds likely that you'll be getting a paper check.

  2. It doesn't matter how the tax return was filed. What matters is whether or not you included your bank account information on the form for a direct deposit of your refund. But as someone else has pointed out, if you received a refund anticipation loan or had fees deducted from your refund, a check will be mailed instead.

Contrary to another post, stimulus payments are still being direct deposited as the returns are processed.

  3. That is not true. If you filed electronically, you will receive your stimulus electronically. If you filed through the mail, they will mail you a stimulus check. Go to irs.org to check out when you should expect to recieve your money based on the last digits of your social security number. I just got mine last week.

  4. No, they used direct deposit for those who used direct deposit on their 2007 returns and did not use the paid preparers advance loans or have paid preparers fees taken out of the refund.

Otherwise you will receive a check in the mail.

  5. It's by mail and can be by direct deposit.  How was your etaxes refunded?

  6. false. It is also being sent by direct deposit .

  7. true, they mail them on a schedual according to the last 2 digits in your social security numbers
