I'm starting to look at colleges, and I'm wondering how the medical school at the University of Hawaii is. I'm from NY, but I have a friend who lives in Hawaii, so it shouldn't be too hard of a move. I doubt many people will e able to answer this question, but how is it compared to Stony Brook University, which is like 15 miles away from me. Thanks

  1. Good luck getting an interview, they only give 50 or so to out of states, and there's only about 12 spots. Costs 70k a year for non residents, Median MCAT score is a 32Q ("average") No PhD program, 3.8GPA average, 3.7 for science.

Stony brook, 500 interviews for residents (25%) 100 spots. 43k a year for residents. Same MCAT score as Hawaii, GPA is 3.7 for science and overall. PhD Program and MD/BS MD/MPH

Both focus a lot on internal medicine, but Honolulu also works a lot towards family practice, where as Stony goes towards pediatrics.
