  1. its a very safe place not including iraq.. but if ure going to be stationed in qatar or kuwait.. you will be very welcomed.. plus even crime rates are lower than the US.. and no terrorists activities and extremest.. people are open minded and welcoming

  2. Why do you want to go to the marines and do infantry?

Wouldn't you rather be in a dorm room with your nose in a book?

  3. Politicians can get you killed in lots of places other than the middle east.

    Take your pick.

  4. wrong.  the middle east is the only place we need infantry.  sure, you might get some cush duty elsewhere; we have marines in korea and cuba.  but basic infantry is primarily combat.  seriously, give some thought to some sort of specialized MOS.

  5. not to be rude, but it doesnt seem like you are marine material, they are blood thirsty, destruction seeking soldiers, all they want in to see war, and kill towel heads. But not many marines are in iraq now, its mostly army, the marines already did their job over their.

  6. With all due respect your question makes it sound as if you're looking for "peacetime soldiering".

Enlisting in the military is a commitment that is not to be trifled with.  If you are worried about being deployed and forced into combat and possibly injured/maimed thrn don't do it in the first place.

  7. If you are in infantry, you are going to go where the most action is, usually. That would be Afghanistan or Iraq. I think you should study up on things, before you make any big decisions. We are not fighting in the middle east, at least not officially, which does not include Iraq or Afghanistan. You do know that infantry means combat, right?
