how are the olympic medal table rankings calculated?

is 1 gold worth 3 bronzes or 2 silvers or am i completely wrong

  1. lol your completely wrong dont worry tho. they just add all the medals together like now we got 77 total thanks to the gold and silver shawn johnson and nastia luiken like an hour ago

  3. No they don't just add all the medals together. Only the US is conveniently doing that this year for some reason. China is top, it has the most golds

  4. IOC official ranking has always been "number of golds", and therefore, the clear winner is China (and the whole world knows that, currently, China is leading by a big gap).
