  1. There is no direct correlation.  The ozone layer blocks certain frequencies of ultraviolet light by absorbing those frequencies when the O3 molecule is cleaved into O2 + O.  The free oxygen radical then either attacks another O3 molecule to produce 2 O2 molecules, or reacts with O2 to reform O3.  Molecules like chlorofluorocarbons interfere with this, as the C-Cl bond in such molecules is weakened by the electronegative fluorines, and that bond is also easily cleaved, producing a Cl radical which can attack O3 as well.


  2. The ozone is so high that there is no pollution that gets that high. There is some confusion of the weather people that reports on the ozone ,it is not it is NO2 and true ozone is O3 . It is so high that it is on the edge of space . The ozone layer that protects us from radiation is formed when the solar winds collide with the earth's magnetic field .
