Ozone isn't really stored.  It's just there.  It's O3 in the upper atmosphere and it blocks a lot of ultra-violet radiation.  The third atom makes it less stable than O2, so it is hard to replenish, and is actually toxic and harmful to the respiratory system if found in the lower atmosphere.
