Of course there are different kinds of people, but how was your impression? Were they friendly to you? Rude?

I am planning to work there for 6 months (in Mexico City and Oaxaca City)

  1. I have yet to meet a rude Mexican.  Always shake a Man's hand.  Try and speak Spanish when you can.  Be respectful, etc.

    Mexican's are cordial, friendly people.

  2. In general, Mexicans are more cordial than their North American counterparts, but they may not be on time for meetings.  and in Mexico City you may encounter con-men and petty thieves--a money belt you can wear under you clothes might be a good investment.  click the link below for a good book to read before you go.  It will give you some insights into their culture and etiquette.

  3. Mexico City is a huge city.  People there are like other huge cities.  You're sort of anonymous.  In general Mexicans like Americans.  Go to Guadalajara (Jalisco) if you get the chance- they'll love you.

Oaxaca is not so big.  I like the rural areas best.  Peopl ehave always been friendly to me in Mexico.  If you at least try to speak Spanish, nearly everyone will be friendly to you.

  4. it is a whole new environment totally. and different culture so u have to be open to new experiences and lifestyles

  5. well i think that for the most part its the same as here in the U.  S. I think some people are b*****s and I think that some people are very nice. I think in general people there are pretty nice. I go there every year I have a house about 100 miles north of mexico city. well I hope you enjoy your stay there
