I lived there for 10 years

Oman is the most beautiful country I have ever been to, amazing beaches!!  If you're a beach person I would recommend Qantab or Sawadi.

The weather in Summer is very very hot and humid, even in the evenings.  In Winter the weather is so comfortable; not too hot not too cold.

The national language is Arabic but nearly everyone in the city's capital (muscat) speaks english.  Other common languages spoken are Hindi, Urdu and Farsi.

The people are very friendly and hospitable, they make you feel very welcome.

The shopping there is great too.  At supermarkets you can buy absolutely any groceries you need and they have famous household brands.  Clothes shopping if you are looking for Western shops I would recommend City Centre, they have so many shops from Banana Republic, Lacoste, Nine West, River Island...I could go on.

They also have a big huge traditional market (souq) in Mutrah

well theoretically speaking OMEN is meaning a cursed one but i've been there and its not bad bbut the terms mean worse

The official language there is arabic, Islam is the religion there, Omani Ryal is the Currency, and the country is ruled by Sultan Qaboos ibn Said Al Said.
