How is the "wierd manga" called?

while changing the channels, usually in the late night, I've seen some manga, or anime , or cartoon (I don't know the right term ) Witch is really wierd.

The character and the way it's animated makes it a strong movie, in the sens that what is trated its of adult content. And of course with a strong sensation of fantasy/futurism/realism.

So.... What is it called, and what are some movies or directors witch do this kind of work..?
