How is the schedule set up for a team in division 1 college baseball?

I'm not positive but it's probably something like this.

The office of the commisioner of the Conference (Big 10, Big East, Pac 10, etc) probably does the Conference schedule.

The Athletic Director of the school (with help from the Baseball coach) probably schedules to non-conference games
