  1. The secret to U of T is that it is designed to FAIL first year students. Its is specifically designed to weed out people.

The downtown campus is spread out over many city blocks and you often find yourself running like crazy to get from class to class.  First year classes are HUGE.  !st year Psychology classes are held in a huge auditorium that holds 1000 or more people and it is packed. Your chances of sitting beside the same person twice in the year are slim.

Other first year classes like economics have 500-600 students

University of Toronto Downtown Campus is in the heart of Downtown Toronto, which is a big city. There are lots of things to do and see, and go out and so forth.  There are like 50,000 students that go there. I'm sure you can find a few cute women.

There is also a Scarborough Campus for U of T which is kind of a More conventional Campus setting...Everything located on one main Campus.

If you want more of a Party school, I would suggest YORK University. That way you can have a scocial life and still do well. York is pretty highly regarded these days.

Born and Raised In Toronto. Attended and Graduated from U of T in 1988 ( its still the same, believe me)

  2. Most of my friends who have gone to University (U of T and York) said that first year students always goof off, no matter what university you go to. It's your responsibility to go or not to go to lectures but in the end, if you don't go, the only person it'll be hurting is you. It's often in 2nd and 3rd year that people realize it's not a joke anymore, and they have to take it more seriously.

  3. The above poster is right.

First year is designed to weed out people...no matter how much they deny.

It's smack int he middle of downtown Toronto...yeah it's a fun school.  It's not a party school in the sense of UWO and WLU...as those schools, we party EVERY night.

  4. I am going there next year (hopefully) and I think that it is pretty academic but considering it is smack-dab in the middle of a huge city, there's going to be some party-type things. The first two basically nailed it.
