How is the study of (non-human) primates beneficial to humans?

  1. when you study primates, non- human.....you can get an idea of basic primate functions without the rest of human functions getting in the way of your study.....usually non-human primates are much more simple in their actions and you can draw conclusions to human behavior much easier with simplicity....its kind of like an analogy i heard once about humans being a very complicated calculus problem and non-human primates being a simple 3rd grade math problem.


  2. It allows primatiologist to study the biological beginnings of humans supposedly. Chimps are genetically the most similar species to humans. 98 % of there Dna is similar to ours. It allows comparison between chimps and the early hominids. It is used to try and understand the biological basis of human nature. the flaw is that often primatologist take the comparison to far.  Humans have culture to over come biological limitations.

  3. It's not, but it gives college types grants that they can live on and not get a regular job like the rest of us. Since the rest of academia lives on grants too they give it an air of legitimacy and nobody really cares but them.

  4. It keeps the over educated off of skid row. They could never make it in the real world.
