How is the typical accent of someone from Bucaramanga, Colombia? What are the characteristics?

  1. It's hard to explain, but they do have an accent. Imagine a Colombian person talking (a Colombian accent). Now imagine that person being very angry, stressing the sound of the words (especially of the second syllable in a word, i.e. hardCORE), and talking very loud. That's pretty much it... Don't worry they're not angry at you this is just how they sound. People from that part are famous for being "angry," which is a result of their strong accent. Of course, it's only a joke like saying that southern US people all say stuff like: "howdy y'all."


  2. I have not been to Bucaramanga but have been to Bogota and Tunja Colombia.  When speaking to the locals I did not pick up on any bizzar accent and they seemed to be normal spaninsh to an untrained ear (if you go to barcelona in Spain though they have a lisp......defintly can notice that!)

    English speaker!
