How is the weather in switzerland and italy generally in the last week of march?

i want to visit zurich,geneva,mt.blanc,matterhorn in switzerland and florence,rome,venice inthe last week of march 07.i wish to know the weather conditions and railway links.

since its march, be wary of the spring snow. its still chilly and i bet that switzerland will still have plenty snow (the highest mountains always have snow) I was in Switzerland recently and i have a few hints 1st dont go to the matterhorn because its uncomfertable to get to (its at the end of a one way valley) and its one mountain. bad weather = boring nothing to do day. Rather go to the Bernese Oberland (the transportation hub of that region is Interlaken) where there are multiple mountains and stuff to do on cloudy days. second if you go to the lac leman (aka genfsee or lake geneva) region, go to places like lausanne, chateau de chillon, and evian-les-bains because geneva is a big grey boring if you stay in it too long city. as for your italian destinations, the weather should be fine. for railway links search  die bahn http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...

p.s. the best way to get to Mont Blanc is through Chamonix (2 1/2 hrs by train from Geneve) in france cause it doesn't even border switzerland
