How is the weather like in costa rica around august and september?

i've heard that those months could be rainy? but what does that mean? does it rain all day? everyday? if it rains, how long does it last? can i expect to see the sun? how are the beaches?

it rains everyday about 3-4 hrs a day. mostly in the afternoon is when it rains. you can see the sun in the morning and he beaches are the not bad...

Those months it rains some almost everyday. Carry an umbrella....about $2.

It's very green and beautiful. They beaches are great. August 15 is Mothers day...parades and events for the moms. Sept 15 is Independence day...again parades, topes (horse shows) and fireworks.

Don't let the rain stop you from experiencing the rain forest.

It rains a couple hours a day, then the sun comes back out.  The beaches are beautiful, some are white sand , otjers pink sand, others black sand, depending where you go.  Aug, Sept are the "low Season" (not too many tourists), so rates at hotels and attractions are lower.  If you like touristy places check out Playa Samara,   more laid back check out Playa Zancudo.  Both have gr8 web sites.
