How is the winner of the olympics deteermined now?

Whn its all over how is the best country determined how do they count medals

Some people go by most gold, others define it by most total medals.

I prefer to rank nations by most gold.

It's total medal count, then if it's a tie by most gold, if that's a tie, by most silver, etc.  USA can't be faulted because they sweep so many events, fencing, mens 400M hurdles, etc....that's going to add up to alot of silvers and bronzes.

there yechnically isnt a winner of the olympics, they keep track of medals but they dont actually deem a winner
